Why euro machines are hard to quote
Importing dealers juggle two problems at once. The list price is in euros, and the real cost includes freight from Europe, port and dock charges, pre-delivery inspection and haulage to the customer. A salesperson converting at today's rate on a phone calculator and forgetting the freight can give away the whole margin without realising.
Set the rate once, quote in pounds
Each brand is set up in its own currency. For euro brands, the owner sets the exchange rate the dealership wants to quote at. DigDealer converts every model and option from the euro list, applies your dealer discount and markup, and shows salespeople a sterling selling price. They never see a euro figure or do a conversion.
When the rate moves, the owner changes one number and every price in that brand updates.
Landed cost, not list price
Freight, dock fees, PDI and haulage are added as cost lines for the brand, in euros or pounds as they are charged. Flat uplifts can be added where a manufacturer's terms call for them. The cost DigDealer calculates is the full landed cost, and your minimum markup is applied to that, not to a list price that ignores shipping.
- Price lists held in EUR or GBP
- Dealer-set exchange rate per dealership
- Freight, dock, PDI and haulage as default cost lines
- Minimum markup applied to the full landed cost
Who it helps
Euro pricing is everyday work for attachment dealers and forestry equipment dealers who import from Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, and for construction dealers bringing in European excavators and loaders. It is also why we build catalogues for you during onboarding: converting a 90-model euro list is a job for us, not your sales team.

Euro price lists and landed cost: common questions
Can we quote machines that are priced in euros?
Yes. Brands can be held in euros. DigDealer converts them to pounds at the rate you set and shows salespeople a sterling selling price.
Who sets the exchange rate?
The dealership owner. Each dealer sets its own rate, and changing it updates every model and option in that brand.
Are freight and PDI included in the cost?
Yes. Freight, dock, PDI and haulage can be set as default cost lines for each brand, so markups and minimums apply to the real landed cost.
Do customers see euro prices?
No. Quotes and PDFs are in pounds sterling with UK VAT.
